The idea behind my abstract graphical work called Valentine for a Day. This is yet another blog in which I explain why I created the image displayed below, and what I was thinking at that time.
Check my Ipernity profile for all my abstract designs and pictures. Check links belowThe idea behind this one isn't that complicated at all actually. The title is the reason why I made this image, for a good friend. I made another one for her, but I was so eager to show her that image, I showed it to her two weeks before valentines day...
Originally I made this image to try to comfort her a bit. She had a tough period back then, and wasn't feeling all to happy. This isn't the casual crybaby situation we see a lot on stuff like Facebook these days, but some serious shit everyone would have been sad about.
So, I decided I wanted to cheer her up somehow, why not? Considering all the reasons why she felt a bit down back then, I thought I'd make her my valentine for a day through the means of this design. Nothing serious, just a kind gesture. When I sent her the image, she felt a bit better and she loved the image.
Mission accomplished, no?
I must say, this is one of the works I'm most proud of. It took me two days to finish it. No, not full days of course, but I did put a lot hours in it. I've never been happier about one of my designs, this one really is my gem. And to top that, people started asking me if they could use it as a wallpaper, website background, images in blogs or even a design for an agenda!
The heart should be rather obvious, however there's more behind it. On the left you see this energy flowing towards the center, however it's cut off around the heart. Nevertheless, it is continuing inside the heart, meaning that even though some good emotions get completely destroyed at a certain superficial point, at some moment you'll find yourself back and get back on your feet.
That's what the flow on the right is about, it's going up. Because when you hit rock bottom, all you can do is go back up, right? That was what I was thinking back then.
